Plants are very small: no more than 7 mm tall; Leaves complanate; more or less distichous; persistent luminescent protonema: (unbranched filaments). Sporophytes very small, occasional
under root wads, caves, very low light undercut root cavities.
This is an S2 state of Washington and G3-G4 Federally ranked species. In Washington it is known from 13 counties with a total of 19 known locations. Geo coordinates are not precise.
