Calotes versicolor
Hi Gilma. Are you referring to the anole I made a species suggestion on today? It is not the same species as this one (Calotes versicolor). Anyway, as far as I know, Calotes versicolor has not been introduced to Central America, and it is not know for vocalization. If you look closely at this spotting, the central back of the lizard is banded and dark, and bounded on each side by a light stripe. Your lizard has a light central back bounded on each side by darker coloration.
That is the same Lizard I took pictures of today, it lives in my home and I have been calling it a gecko because it sings at night, could it be here in Costa Rica or is it just an oriental lizard!!??
I agree with Jellis. In order that others can easily reinforce your suggestions Jellis, please use the species suggestion form. That way others can signal their agreement by clicking on the "+". Thanks.
Oriental Garden Lizard, Eastern Garden Lizard or Changeable Lizard (Calotes versicolor)
