Black Caterpillar

Description:

An all black caterpillar, 3 cm in length, with heavy yellow spines. Each spine had many smaller spines and were situated on round yellow disks. The head had 2 long spiny black antenna-like projections. I would guess this larva is toxic.

Habitat:

On forest leaves along the river, Chiflón Waterfall Park, Chiapas, Mexico.
