Red Dome Blanketflower

Gaillardia Pinnatifida

Description:

This is the first time I've come across this species of blanket flower in Washington state. About 12 inches tall with leaves near the ground. Yellow rays and a reddish purple disc. In the Family: Aster (Asteraceae).

Habitat:

Spotted along the Columbia river. Arid Brush-steppe.
