Common moorhen

Gallinula chloropus

Description:

According to Wikipedia, the common moorhen has a wide distribution, covering many parts of the Old World. This was the first I had ever seen, on a trip to Taiwan, so I was pretty fascinated that it could swim with the shape of its feet.
