Mycena haematopus
Saprobic mushrooms with conical, knobbed caps that were tan with blood red margins. Gills were distant and cream-colored with red on the edges.
Spotted growing out of the top of a rotting log in a deciduous forest.
When squeezed or cut, the flesh and stipe ooze a red blood-like latex. The species name "haematopus" literally means "blood-foot" in Greek.
