Brooding Sea Anemone

Epiactis prolifera

Description:

This anemone was 3 cm wide with dark and light bands on its foot. The tentacles were brownish with lighter ones on the inside though retracted. The odd coloration on the body though still has me scratching my head and wandering if Epiactis prolifera is the correct ID.

Habitat:

Spotted on an exposed rock at low tide. A rocky shoreline at Tongue Point Marine Sanctuary.
