Indian Rhinoceros/Greater One-horned Rhinoceros

Rhinoceros unicornis

Description:

Among terrestrial land mammals native to Asia, the Indian rhinoceros is second in size only to the Asian elephant. This heavily built species is also the second largest living rhinoceros, behind only the White Rhinoceros.

Habitat:

Chitwan National Park

Notes:

We were lucky enough to see 3 Rhinos on our walk. Turns out we must have walked straight past them but couldn't see them in the long grass until we were up on the hill.
