American Red Squirrel

Description:

Red squirrels can be easily identified from other North American tree squirrels by their smaller size, territorial behavior and reddish fur with a white underbelly. Red squirrels are somewhat larger than chipmunks.

Habitat:

Red squirrels prefer to live in shady northern forests with lots of tall pine trees and mushrooms.
