Eucalyptus Leaf Gall

Description:

These galls were on the upper surface of the leaves, Each gall was like a miniature apple, red and glossy with a depression on the slightly flattened top. Individual galls were well separated. They appear to have started off as a pale green blemish on the leaf surface with black raised centres. The underside of each gall showed slight discolouration of the leaf surface (not seen here)

Habitat:

Spotted on a eucalyptus tree - species not known.

Notes:

These galls were very different to the other galls I've spotted on gum leaves. Not sure of the ID of the architect but will keep looking. Any assistance with the ID will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
