Northern Rough-wing Swallow

Stelgidopteryx serripennis (Audubon, 1838, Charleston, South Carolina)

Description:

Adults are 13–15 cm (5.1–5.9 in) in length, brown on top with light underparts and a forked tail. They are similar in appearance to the bank swallow but have a dusky throat and breast.

Habitat:

Barnyard or farm yard.

Notes:

Swallows found on wire near a home.
