Pseudanthias bicolor
It has a purple and orange color formation, thus the name bicolor. It has a semi-aggressive temperament and can get around 5 inches. The males have a more intense coloration with a violet body and orange running along the back through the upper caudal lobe. The females tend to be lavender in color with a orange back and caudal fin. The dorsal fin of the male is edged in purple, and the first ray is elongated.
The Bicolor Anthias is originally from hawaii forming massive schools among the reefs and 200 feet or deeper.
These are one of the hardier of the Anthias and make a wonderful addition to the saltwater reef or fish only aquarium. Sorry about the bad quality side shot, it never wants to hold still enough for my phone to get a picture of it. Also, if you've seen my other spottings, you'll know that it love to be cleaned by my Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. My Anthias is about 3 inches or so.
