Blue Bottle

Centaurea cyanus

Description:

Blue flowers with over 8 petals terminating in a three prong fork and standing tall and contrasting among tall green grass and foliage.

Habitat:

Wetlands at the base of the Allatoona Dam and along the north bank of the Etowah River.

Notes:

I noticed about a dozen beautiful blue blooms along the base of the dam. What an amazing and colossal backdrop to finish a long day of hiking up and down the Cooper's Furnace trail.
