Golden Waxy Cap

Hygrocybe flavescens

Description:

Convex caps that were bright yellowish orange. Pale yellow, widely-spaced gills with short gills frequent. Gills were attached to the stem. The stem was yellow, dry (but, slightly greasy), and fragile. They were approximately 5cm tall.

Habitat:

Growing on the ground near tree roots in a mixed forest.
