Sergeant major or Pintano

Abudefduf saxatilis

From the family of Damselfish. Yellow on top fading to light color belly. Five dark strips and forked tail

shallow saltwater coral reefs..

This was spotted in an Ecopark called Xel 'Ha in Cancun. Most of the animals are free roaming as well with the fish. All are native wildlife from the area. These photos were taken in pond that is a mix of fresh water coming down from the mountains and salt water from the Caribbean Sea. Not sure if the fish were placed there or trapped in from the tides, but they enjoy it. The water was so salty I didn't need any equipment but snorkel and mask to swim in it.
