Me too searched in flowers of India, before posting it. Leuba, I am glad that u know the local language name. Its Kannada - double n.
Such pretty flowers. I can't find any matches on Flowers of India. It would be good if you had access to Forestry Dept.'s directory of flora in Western Ghats.
If the locals know what it is you could give us the Kanada name for it.
