Northern Gannet

Morus bassanus

Description:

Went out on a boat at Virginia Beach, VA, to go whale watching and was also treated to the awesome sight of thousands of Northern Gannets. At one point, hundreds of them started diving into the water at the same time to feed, and it looked like a waterfall of birds! It was amazing!
