Neottia cordata
Tiny red and green flowers, red stem, and two opposite leaves near the base of the stem. One of the smallest orchids I have come across. Found in a patch of about 10-15 of these plants
Mossy spruce forest floor.
Fungus gnats are the chief pollinators of this orchid, feeding off the nectar it produces. The plant also has mycorrhizal partnerships with certain fungi. More info in the reference links.
