Uraba lugens
Like mini pork pies with bulging sides and shallow concave tops these eggs which were no more than 1 mm wide, were seen in rows of 12 to 14. The rows were well separated. Some of the eggs looked a pale yellow colour with the developing larva inside while some others were empty egg shells, transparent and colourless with ridges on the outer surface. There appeared to be a few delicate strands of silk anchoring them ( pic 2) to the leaf but they may not be related.
Spotted two sets of these on leaves of two different eucalyptus trees, probably messmate ( E. obliqua)
I have seen these eggs before now, always on eucalyptus leaves and now I have an ID, thanks to Ducatista.

Thank you so much for the ID Ducatista. So thrilled to have an ID for these eggs - now I can cross link to the caterpillar and moth. You see the caterpillars everywhere but this is the first with the eggs. Thanks again.
