Eysarcoris fabricii
This is a brown 3-5mm bug found on the sweet potato plant. Also called Bronze Shield Bug. Reference PN: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/133....
Backyard.
Thanks Adarsha and Leana for taking a look at this. Very close! Although Eysarcoris fabricii or Eysarcoris venustissimus (its new name) seems to be a European species. But, the synonym genus Bainbriggeanus (Distant, 1918) includes Philippines in its distribution :)
I just not gone through it so much..so why not suggested the ID..just gave a reference as i too had doubt about it!...You are welcome....Agree with ur points in the comment and hence Leana is correct i think...
I'll look for it again Adarsha in these coming days and check any updates on its features. Thanks again for taking time in helping me to ID this.
Thanks Adarsha. It's confusing since my spotting does not have the features and markings (yet?) of the BMSB, as if my spotting is still a juvenile. Also, my spotting does not seem to have the alternating light and dark markings on the antennae which is a distinguishing feature of the BMSB.. :(
It is brown marmorated i think....
