Fan throated lizard

Sitana ponticeriana

Description:

The Fan-throated lizard (Sitana ponticeriana) belongs to Agamidae family.

Habitat:

Dry deciduous forests

Notes:

This image was taken during the display of this lizard. They enlarge their throat like a fan, as the name itself says, during their breeding period to impress their mate. And for that, to get noticed, they choose place at some height or in open ground from where their display should be visible to the female clearly. And it goes on and on... He was too busy in impressing his mate that he was hardly noticing me. :D
