Anthracite moth

Melanodes anthracitaria

Description:

I renamed my photos to 'anthracite moth' without knowing the real name and guess what !! A beautiful shiny black moth about 40mm across and has geometrid wavy patterns.

Habitat:

Turned up at night in a back room with a light on.

Notes:

The third shot is with intense flash to show the patterns. The real moth looks very black. Another one found not far away http://www.flickr.com/photos/chrissamuel... Also a year later http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/382...
