RandyL, unfortunately this is the best shot I was able to take. There was a big water canal between the me and the species and I have to zoom in to take this photo. Thanks a lot for your comment!

Any idea what the bottom looked like? Was it a pore surface? Could be something close to Polyporus squamosus.
