Ghost Glass Frog

Sachatamia ilex

Description:

captivating large eyes, females to 35mm, the largest glass frog in Costa Rica

Habitat:

rainforest, secondary forest, riparian habitats

Notes:

I searched for the ghost glass frog every night during my 5 night stay at Yatama Ecolodge. Another guest passionate about frogs acted as my guide and we searched intensely. We found a lot of other great species in our search but thankfully, on my last night, we found one ghost glass frog on a small shrub beside a stream.
