It's an easy mistake to make. (I've certainly made my share of mis-identifications....grin.) Colorado is a great place; lots of stuff to photograph and I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your spottings.
Thanks for the reply! I just changed it because I agree with you; I had seen Fishers in the woods and when this one walked by it looked so similar (just alot younger) that I figured it was a very young Fisher. I just did some more research and I was mistaken, mink it is.
Jeremy, Welcome to Project Noah. I'm looking at this photo and am wondering if this isn't a mink rather than a fisher. They look similar, but mink are smaller and more likely to be found around water. A fisher has a face that looks very much like a dark fox and I'm not quite seeing that face in this photo. Fishers typically are found in mountains and boreal forests and Colorado would be out of their range. What do you think?
