Description:

Ludlow's Bhutan Swallowtail (Bhutanitis ludlowi) is a species of butterfly in the family Papilionidae. It belongs to the subfamily Parnasiinae which also contains the Apollo butterflies.

Notes:

This is a highly Threatened species of butterfly. This photograph was clicked by my friend Sonam Dorji from Trasiyangtse, Bhutan which is the endemic to this area.

Very very special. I have a great fondness for species that feed on Aristolochia and would love to see the caterpillars.The link makes for fascinating and thought provoking reading. I hope it is ranched successfully soon.
