Ichthyophaga ichthyaetus
Stocky bodied raptor with greyish white head. Fearsome beak. Short tail with some white fathers and a black terminal band.
Habanara town. By the side of a lake adjoining the place where we stayed. Very early in the morning. It was sitting on a tree far away but suddenly flew in and perched for a while on a tree just behind me. The sun was not up yet and it was hazy...still, I took a few shots.
Near threatened status so, I am happy I was lucky to have spotted it.
