American Avocet

Recurvirostra americana

Description:

Every year, for a day, the American Avocet takes a break in Milwaukee, Wi. The layover is brief, generally one day... and then adios. I was fortunate to catch them this spring and called my children out to witness these beautiful creatures... what a wonderful few hours.

Thanks to all for the wonderful comments... I know I wrote that for another photo I had taken on here... but it truly is a wonderful feeling knowing that others enjoy my passion. Thanks again.
