Spotted Cucumber Beetle

Description:

Small beetle with yellow and green coloration. Black spots and dark legs.

Habitat:

Suburban garden, feeding at daisies in moderate numbers.

Notes:

This is the first time I have seen these beetles all season. Considered a major agricultural pest, causing crop damage and spreading disease between plants.

Yes, Yuko. This is the first time I have seen these beetles in person. They are wonderfully colored. Too bad they are such a pest in places. They were no bother in my garden so I let them be. :-)
