Description:

One of the most popular and easily recognizable birds, distinguished by its striking orange patch on the chest, throat, and face.

Habitat:

Gardens of the old riverbed of the Turia River (Valencia). In winter it is very common in almost any environment, including parks and gardens; but in spring it breeds preferably in cool places. It is territorial, both in winter and in summer, and very often it can be seen in the bushes or on the ground while it looks for insects.
