Snowy Egrest

(Egretta thula)

Description:

Horicon, as you all can see, provides very much in terms of variety when it comes to birds. Horicon Marsh is the largest cattail marsh in the United States and it sits roughly 45 minutes Northwest of Milwaukee, Wi. On this fantastic day... I got wind of a Snowy Egret having been seen... so I called my son out of school and we drove on over. We stay through a thuderstorm, surprised he did as well, a rainbow, but unfortunately very little sunny skies. Nonetheless, it was an incredible day watching a rare bird with my son.
