Description:

This is a subspecies of the Black Pine that grows only in a small region, on the Cerna River in the Banat region of Romania.

Habitat:

Cerna river valley.

Notes:

The legend says that on the Cerna (Tiernis) river, after bathing in the hot springs of the region, Hercules killed the seven headed hydra.
