Northern Cardinal (male)

Cardinalis cardinalis

Habitat:

dense shrubby areas such as forest edges, overgrown fields, hedgerows, backyards, marshy thickets, mesquite, regrowing forest, and ornamental landscaping

Notes:

A male cardinal perched on eastern Redbud tree. Many cardinals in this area. They also seemed overall a bit less skittish than the ones I come across in South Florida.
