Lime leaf larva

Description:

Approximately 30mm overall. Larva was quite plain with a segmented cream coloured body and a black/purple head capsule. It had created a case apparently from two small lime? leaves but they may have been from something else.. definitely very pale and venation seems a bit wrong even though they were very dry.

Habitat:

This case was hanging on a silk thread from our lime tree on a warm day.

Notes:

Not seen before..
After taking it indoors to study it took about 2 hours for the larva to reappear.
