IMO dragonflies are no more difficult to photograph than butterflies, and you shoot butterflies well. Go for it!

Thanks Walter, I only had good luck with this spotting. Dragonflies are not easy to photograph.

I'm not sure what type of dragonfly this is, but it is definitely a male as indicated by the "claspers" (terminal appendages) at the end of its abdomen. I hope this is the first of many more D&Ds you spot as spring turns to summer in the Southern Hemisphere!
