Description:

Hypolimnas bolina (Linnaeus, 1758), the Great Eggfly, also called the Blue Moon Butterfly in New Zealand or Common Eggfly, is a species of nymphalid butterfly. Hypolimnas bolina philippensis, Butler, 1874, is the subspecies occurring in the Philippines excluding Batanes, Bongao, Jolo, Sanga Sanga, Sibutu, Tawi-tawi. Uppersides of the male Great Eggfly feature four blue-edged white patches on the fore and hindwings.

Habitat:

Backyard, spotted on Lantana camara flowers.

Thanks Adi! Yes, he is almost perfect, except for the tear in the right hindwing :| But he is still a beauty :) And so cooperative :)
