Hypolimnas bolina philippensis
Hypolimnas bolina (Linnaeus, 1758), the Great Eggfly, also called the Blue Moon Butterfly in New Zealand or Common Eggfly, is a species of nymphalid butterfly. Hypolimnas bolina philippensis, Butler, 1874, is the subspecies occurring in the Philippines excluding Batanes, Bongao, Jolo, Sanga Sanga, Sibutu, Tawi-tawi. Uppersides of the male Great Eggfly feature four blue-edged white patches on the fore and hindwings.
