spotted on rusty lyonia, Lyonia ferruginea, shrubs in scrubland sanctuary
I also have see this Red leaf fungus gall on plants at Cedar Point Park and other parks in Englewood, Florida. They start out either white or rusty looking and then turn a dark brown or black.
