Eneoptera surinamensis

Eneoptera surinamensis

Description:

Orthoptera, family Gryllidae. This hopper was abundant in the place at the moment of my visit. Even dough it was not reported in many sites or bibliography to be present there. It is completely brown, and it has that disposition of the jumping legs that you can see in the picture. This is a female, the ovipositor is clear in the picture.

Habitat:

I took this picture in Jujuy province, in the north of Argentina. Near the town of Caimancito. This is an area of Yungas forest.
