Snow Fungus

Tremella fuciformis

Description:

White to translucent ruffled fungus.

Habitat:

Growing on the mossy trunk of a live oak about a foot above the leaf litter in an oak hammock beside an ephemeral wetland.

Notes:

A snail appears to have taken up residence inside the fungus. Seems a swell, if moist, home.
