Tremella fuciformis
White to translucent ruffled fungus.
Growing on the mossy trunk of a live oak about a foot above the leaf litter in an oak hammock beside an ephemeral wetland.
A snail appears to have taken up residence inside the fungus. Seems a swell, if moist, home.
I'm no expert, but the kids and I just happen to have researched it recently because we found some growing on our wood pile!
