Thimbleberry

Rubus parviflorus

Notes:

Spotted on the Stoney Indian Pass trail in Glacier National Park by Pass Creek coming up from Waterton Valley trail. "The fruits of thimbleberry are juicy and quite tasty. Native Americans used them as food and they are popular "trail snacks" for modern-day hikers. Some Native American tribes also used the leaves to line containers and as toilet paper." from "Wildflowers of Glacier National Park and Surrounding Areas" by Shannon Fitzpatrick Kimball and Peter Lesica.
