A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cyrtostachys renda
This palm is native to southern Thailand and the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. It grows in lowland peat swamps, tidal coastal areas, and along riverbanks. In Singapore, it is extremely rare in the wild, and it is threatened in some other areas due to habitat loss. Its bright red-orange stalk makes it a popular ornamental, and it is widely planted in Singapore.
