Spotting

Description:

A big, burly, and bold wolf spider. Has a large dark brown patch on an otherwise light brown carapace, stocky, light brown legs, and a dark shape on its abdomen that looks a bit like a vase.

Habitat:

Riparian area

Notes:

This wolf spider was pretty close to the one in my previous spotting. I flushed this big baddie out by pouring some water down his/her burrow. This leads me to believe it's either a Hogna or a Geolycosa, but I'd like some expert advice. Thanks!

Love the wolf spider but I'd never be able to tell the species. I love the variations of patterns they tend to have though. Very nice :)
