Mealybug destroyer

Cryptolaemus sp.

Description:

The mealybug destroyer, a larva of the ladybug Cryptolaemus sp., is covered with white secretions. It may be confused with mealybug but is actually an important predator of these. This one looked a bit worn out, but it was alive when I took the pictures.

Quite fascinating that it's a predator even though it looks like a piece of lint. :)
