Goldfinch

Carduelis carduelis

Description:

Goldfinches are small birds with mainly white underbody with brown or buff patches on their breast. Wings are black with white spots near the ends and bright yellow bars on shoulders. They have a red face with black surrounding the eyes, and a short sharp pink beak used for for opening usually inaccessible seeds.

Habitat:

Low bushes and trees in parks or gardens.

Notes:

These birds have a beautiful song and made of such a striking palette of colours. They are very active and flitty, it took me a while to get good stills of them.
