Praying Mantis (egg case)

Description:

Looks like Styrofoam attached to a branch. Juveniles had already left the case.

Habitat:

Attached about 4 feet up on a dogwood stem, pondside.

Notes:

I might argue that based on variability of egg cases and no adults in the area, that given the location, this is Mantis religiosa.
