Iberian Wildcat

Felis silvestris

Description:

This specimen has the markings of a wildcat although I would expect the tail to be more bushy. It may be that it is still a juvenile and has some growing to do but it could also be the result of hybridisation with a domestic cat which is also a common occurrence. Where they are found well away from human habitation there is no doubt but with this one it is not possible to be sure.

Habitat:

Where the marshes reach the coast adjacent to a coastal village.
