Eyes red over grayish-green; face tan, slightly more reddish above. Thorax red. Abdomen bright red with elongate black ventrolateral triangles on S4-9.

Habitat:

Field edge close to alder swamp.

Thanks Luis. Yes, the marks on the abdomen are one of the great field marks of S. rubicundulum.
