Bearded Pig

Sus barbatus

Description:

This is a Bornean Bearded Boar (Sus barbatus) roaming around at night looking for foods to scavenge. They are very common here whether day or night. They are brave enough to come close to humans for the sake of foods. So called for their beards - their hairy cheeks. Has an extremely good sense of smell.

Habitat:

Dwell on the ground around Maliau Basin Study Centre, near Tawau town, Sabah.

Notes:

Sorry for the long wait friends, I have now started to continue adding my spottings from Maliau Basin. The technical problem that caused me to loose access to my Maliau Basin photographs has finally been solved, thanks to modern technology and God. >>>Map accuracy : 5km diameter.
