Green-winged Teal

Anas carolinensis

Description:

Males was rusty colored head with large green comma across eye and down the back of head. Lighter rusty color band from top of bill over the top of head to become V shaped down the neck. Light color and brown patterned breast, grey flanks. Creamy colored long feathers along back. White vertical slash down front of flanks. Yellow patch and black under tail. Female is brown pattern with green speculum.

Canal off the bay

Notes:

Just after the rain in the late afternoon spotted all three Teal duck species in the same location.
