Lovely Fairywren

Malurus amabilis

Description:

I could hear about 3 individuals twittering. Very hard to photograph as they were always on the move and always stayed on the other side of the bushes. I spotted a couple of females and this male. The male explored the tangled inner branches of a large bush, manoevring with ease.

Habitat:

Open woodland / grassland on James Cook University, Cairns campus.
